After a long drive along a very windy road, we finally arrived at the Butler Arms Hotel, our retreat before we started our round at the much celebrated Waterville Golf Links.

Like most golf geeks we were excited that we were able to play at such an exclusive golf club that has hosted the likes of T Woods, O’Meara and the late Payne Stewart himself. It’s easy to see how the course designer Tom Fazio put his master touch on this piece of art.

Waterville does Links how links should be done. There’s no corporate types here, just good ol’ Irish hospitality (and a mixed bag of geeky lads).
