Just a few of the superlatives that were thrown around after today’s round. I am fortunate in the fact this was my second visit to this place (and certainly not my last) and whilst the course and its condition is always worthy of its Top 50 World ranking, the hospitality & overall welcome is 6*. I always knew (hoped) this would be the round that shook up the leaderboard. The wind was blowing and the white tees offered the real golfing challenge we all craved. Keith Banwaitt may beg to differ, as out his driver had to come for the first time this championship and well… His 6 point lead at the start of the day was no longer.

Tonight there is a new Bantership open leaderboard leader, Russell “350 yard drive is my average” Brazier. Well done mate but still 18 more to go tomorrow. Keep an eye out for your good friend in 2nd place Dan “Mr. Corporate, I’m only here for fun” James and hey I haven’t give up hope yet!
